The Divine Feminine
At a woman’s core is the energy that makes her feminine. Her softness, loving nature, light spirit, and the ability to connect with others on an emotional level.
Visualize a woman wearing a dress, heels with makeup and hair tastefully done. She is manicured. I have looked at those women and thought to myself, “I do not have time for that.” “It’s not feasible for me to dress that way, I have work to do.” “That takes too much time”. The excuses I had were endless. I was putting my femininity on the back burner. It is there but I was not giving my femininity the attention it deserves and desires.
In today’s society, a woman’s femininity is not high priority. Women are working and taking care of their families, sometimes by themselves. When a woman does not have a masculine protector and provider, she becomes those things for herself and starts to operate in more in her masculine energy. You may think to yourself; I am not masculine. Women have both masculine and feminine energy within but when you take on the role as protector and provider, you are operating more in your masculine energy. Masculine energy protects, provides, and deals well with stress. When a woman takes on this role, you become unbalance and your femininity is not prioritized. Yes, you may keep your nails and hair done but have your ever thought what energy emits from you? Have your ever wondered why you are attracting mates that you must do too much for?
I had to ask myself these questions and more. I used to wonder why I was a beautiful woman with my “stuff” together and I was without a provider and protector. I asked a male friend that I once dated his opinion. He told me that when we were dating, he did not feel he could do anything for me. I did everything for myself. In a nutshell, he did not feel the need to protect and provide for me.
Once I realized that I was operating more in my masculine energy, I started my subtle changes. I started with my physical appearance and then began working on the emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of myself. It is a journey that is about changing on purpose. It has not been easy developing new habits to enhance my feminine energy. Sometimes I just want to say, not today. But then I think about what it is I am trying to achieve.
As I began to feel my divine feminine energy rise within me, I knew I wanted others to go on this journey with me. It is a journey of self-discovery and healing.
